Teaching Philosophy
To develop each student’s unique strengths through classical techniques, ear training, music theory, and an additional emphasis on creativity, composition, improvisation and performing. Training with the Alexander technique helps students learn correct posture for a lifetime of ease and freedom while playing and singing. We also learn the art of developing fun practice habits!
Students find their own style while we explore the music they enjoy whether it is classical, praise, jazz, pop, rock, folk, or something new.
Heidi is now offering lessons in the Seattle and Renton areas, as well as online, via Zoom and Facetime.
Piano
Having studied the piano since childhood and with more than 20 years experience in performance and teaching, Heidi can train anyone of any age or background about the art of playing the piano. She teaches solid fundamentals while letting her students play styles in which they are most interested.
Voice
Learn to sing with confidence in any style or genre from jazz, rock, folk or pop, to classical Italian songs and arias!
Specializing in the Alexander Technique, Heidi will show you how to get the most out of your singing voice in ways that will not strain it or cause fatigue. A singing voice that you develop with Heidi Snyder will last you a lifetime!
Composition
Heidi’s background centers largely on Jazz, Folk, and Classical, but her approach really transcends style and genre. Her 2 published albums are unlike anyone has ever heard, and the quality of her arrangements are second to none. She can help you if you are new to songwriting, a seasoned veteran who needs a boost, or anywhere in between.
